Language Resource Centre
The Department of English and Foreign Languages is equipped with a Fully Equipped Language Resource Centre (LRC), which is a state-of-the-art facility designed to promote multilingual communication, language learning, and cultural understanding. Through cutting-edge technology, extensive learning materials, expert support, and diverse cultural events, this Language Resource Center empowers students to embark on an enriching linguistic journey. By promoting global communication and appreciation for different languages, LRC contributes to a more interconnected and tolerant world.
Taiwan Education Centre
Taiwan Education Center (TEC) at SRMIST was established by National Tsing Hua University and funded by the Taiwan Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs of the Taiwan Government in 2016. The Taiwan Education Centre at SRMIST (Known as TEC-SRMIST) offers Mandarin language courses and imparts different levels of lessons. The department also hosts the Chinese language proficiency test (TOCFL) for Indian students. It not only conducts the mandatory credit course for SRMIST E&T students, but also offers certificate courses for students across the campus.
Centre for Global Immersion Program
The Centre for Global Immersion (CGI) serves as a nexus for fostering cross-cultural understanding, international collaboration, and immersive learning experiences. With a commitment to global citizenship, CGI provides a platform for individuals to engage with diverse perspectives, develop intercultural competencies, and address pressing global challenges. Centre for Dyslexia
The Centre for Inclusive Learning, EFL department's initiative at SRM Institute of Science and Technology Kattankulathur, is dedicated to advancing awareness, research, and support for dyslexic individuals. The center aims to raise awareness among educators and students while promoting research initiatives focused on current methodologies and technological aids, such as the DLearners Platform. Additionally, the center functions as a service wing, conducting regular social awareness programs to dispel misconceptions surrounding dyslexia and offering training sessions to equip volunteers with the skills necessary to support dyslexic students in private and government schools. By embracing innovative strategies and fostering collaboration, the Dyslexia Centre strives to create an inclusive educational environment where all learners can thrive.
